Sometime last night we had a backyard visitor. It seems one of our neighbors likes chickens more than I do, because they came into our yard and took one of my hens from the coop.
Jeremy and I ruled out animal predators because the gate and the coop were fully latched and secure, but one of the girls were missing. My theory is that someone heard the rooster in the house and thought the annoying beast was living in the coop, so they decided to rid the neighborhood of the noisy menace, and mistook my Cochin lady for a rooster because she had the red comb/waddle thing going on.
Anyway, we can't find her, and I'm pissed because she was my favorite bird. I'm beginning to lose faith in humanity.
